What is dodu?

dodu is a browser agent for macOS, currently offered through a beta waitlist. It combines browsing, on-demand page AI and SPACE, a place inside Workspace for files and saved research.

What does “on-demand AI” mean?

Shake the mouse to enter selection mode, point at content and click to choose it. Then choose an action or type a question. The answer appears over the page; close it to return to browsing. The Ask dodu button also starts a conversation about the current page.

Does shaking the mouse immediately submit a question?

No. Shaking enters selection mode. Selecting a target opens the action menu; choosing an action or submitting a question starts the requested work. Press Esc to leave selection mode.

What is the difference between Workspace, DODU and SPACE?

Workspace is the browser’s built-in work area. DODU is its conversation area for questions and follow-up work. SPACE is its file area, where you can find and preview saved PDFs, screenshots and other files.

What can I save in SPACE?

The demonstrated workflow saves an AI answer as a PDF and a full-page capture as an image, then opens the PDF in SPACE. Image actions can save the original image. Supported video saves create a link card pointing to the source, rather than a copy of the video.

Can dodu explain any video or webpage?

Access depends on the source. Explanations may use page text, available captions, images or video frames. Login restrictions, unavailable transcripts, protected content and site changes can limit the result. A video URL alone does not mean the entire video has been analyzed.

Is the landing demo a live AI conversation?

No. It is an interactive replay made from real dodu app captures, real answers and saved files. Pointer movement, typing and progressive text reveal are edited for clarity. The full browser window is shown; replay timing is not a performance benchmark.

Does dodu run AI entirely on my Mac?

No. AI requests send the required context to configured service providers. SPACE also uses cloud storage and is not end-to-end encrypted. The Privacy Policy explains processing, local data, retention and deletion choices.

Is dodu available now, and is the waitlist paid?

The public website accepts signups for beta invitations and launch updates. Joining the waitlist does not create a paid subscription or guarantee an invitation date. Current app demonstrations use macOS; other platform availability is not announced here.

How is dodu different from Dia, Arc or Chrome?

Those browsers also offer AI or organization features. dodu’s emphasis is a specific workflow: invoke AI at the content you are viewing, get a focused answer, save useful output to SPACE and continue browsing.
